Pelosi On Biden’s Speech Panned As Divisive Over ‘Domestic’ Enemies Remark: ‘I Thought It Was Fabulous’

Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) praised on Thursday a speech that President Joe Biden gave this week that was extensively panned as divisive because it referred to “home” enemies.

“We heard what the president stated in his speech. And, it appeared that he – there was criticism from the higher chamber, from Mr. Durbin, saying that he went over – maybe a little bit bit excessive a little bit bit,” a reporter stated. “What are your ideas on that? And, do you assume that the president might have gone a little bit bit too far in attempting to promote this specific invoice to the American folks and attempting to get votes to attempt to get this handed by [inaudible] the filibuster?”

“No. I stand with the president. I believe that I – I assumed his speech was great, and I stand with him within the combat for voting rights. No criticism of Mr. Durbin. He has to do what he has to do vis‑a‑vis his personal Members and the remainder,” Pelosi responded. “The one criticism I’d make, too – I wouldn’t say criticisms, however observations. No person is aware of who Bull Connor [is]. You understand, if we’re making the case to say, ‘We’re going to be with Martin Luther King or Bull Connor’ – who’s that? ‘If we’re going to be with Martin Luther King or [the people] – Martin Luther King and John Lewis, or the individuals who unleashed the fierce canine on them’ – that’s who Bull Connor is. Strom Thurmond – none of us have lots of blissful recollections about Strom Thurmond.”

“So, once more, because you requested my critique of the president’s speech, I assumed it was fabulous,” she concluded. “I come out, congratulate him for it.
